Silky smooth water and child-safe swimming environment are both assumptions of a “salt water pool”. Learn more about the facts and benefits of chlorine generators for pool water sanitation.
Hayward Goldline Replacement Cells
Hayward joined with Goldline Controls, a pioneer in salt-based chlorination and creator of AquaRite and AquaLogic products, over a decade ago to form the world’s premier supplier of salt systems and the cells they use. These T-CELLS are the best-selling replacement units in the industry and we offer the original models as well as generic equivalents from CompuPool.
Hayward produces the most popular replacement salt cells in the world: the T-CELL-3, T-CELL-5 (now the GLX-CELL-5), the T-CELL-9 and the T-CELL 15. These models are all compatible with Hayward’s current AquaRite chlorination system, but are also fine for use with a number of private label brands Hayward and Goldline have collectively supported over the years, including:
AquaLogic AquaPlus AquaRite AquaRite Pro AquaRite XL AquaTrol Blue Haven SmartPure H40 LeverEdge Guardian Mineral Springs NatureSoft ProLogic SplashCLEAR Splash SP-40 SwimPure Plus
Important Notes about Hayward T-CELLs One problem with T-CELLs has been confusion among some customers over what replacement model they need due to some software updates Hayward performed in 2009. The T-CELL-3 (for pools up to 15,000 gallons) and T-CELL-9 (25,000 gallons) require revision 1.5 or newer for AquaRite systems, or revision 4.2 or newer for the older AquaLogic systems in order to function properly. To ensure our customers are ordering the correct replacement cell, we require them to make sure they’re using up-to-date software before we ship them these cells.
If you are using a Hayward system made before 2009, you have a few options when it comes time to replace your salt cell: - Order a new circuit board for your power center (we carry boards for both the AquaRite and the AquaLogic salt systems). - Purchase a new AquaRite system. - Order the T-CELL-15, which works with the older software.
Another option is going with a CompuPool generic replacement cell. Hayward T-CELLs remain the most popular salt cells on the market, but CompuPool generics are a more economical alternative than the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) version and come from a respected supplier with the same three-year warranty offered by Hayward. And they don’t have the compatibility issues of their OEM counterparts in dealing with older software.
The CompuPool generic cells also fit perfectly into your existing plumbing, so there’s no extra work involved in adapting a Compupool cell to a Hayward salt system. We endorse products from both manufacturers, and only wish to help you make an educated decision when choosing among them. Feel free to call us with whatever salt cell questions you may have. As you can see from the thumbnails above, there are OEM and generic cells available for both inground and above ground pools.
