I have a series S244t and is leaking water out the top of the valve. Will replacing the vari-flo valve fix it?

Can the handle to valve be replaced ?

BEST ANSWER: I do not think that you would be able to buy the handle separate. I would not attempt it if you could. Chances are you would be replacing the valve soon anyway. They usually last about 6-7 years with normal use.

Why does my pool water leak to waste when it is being filtered?

BEST ANSWER: Only suggestion I have is make sure the valve handle has settled all the way down into the grove for "filter". Sometimes I push the handle down and let it back up to make sure it is securely seated in "filter" notch. If that doesn't work, I don't have any idea other than dysfunctional valve.

The seals in the valve have softened over time due to the chlorine in the water. A new valve should correct your problem.
