We chose the T-CELL-15 and its CaliMar equivalent for comparison because, as many Hayward systems owners know, the T-CELL-15 is a universal replacement for the smaller T-CELL-3 and T-CELL-9, which have firmware compatibility issues with systems made before 2009. Rather than purchase new systems entirely or new circuit boards for their older systems, many customers who need to replace a smaller T-CELL in an older system choose the T-CELL-15, which has no compatibility problems and works in all Hayward systems regardless of age. This, in turn, helps make the T-CELL-15 the most popular model of the line.
