Would this part replacement work on a Coverstar pool cover that was installed in 1985? I was told that part number A0127 was no longer manufactured and that your part would not work on a cover that is more than 25 years old. If the part is different on current manufactured covers, wouldn't the part numbers be different? Can you help me? Thank you.
BEST ANSWER:Sometimes manufacturers will use the same part numbers for similar parts and make it discontinued to it's older counter-parts. The best thing to do would be to call Coverstar directly and spend a few minutes with them and they should be able to give you a valid part number that will work for your system as long as it exists. In some cases you might have to change out your entire system because of an older, obsolete part.
