Calimar warranty service

My Calimar salt cell died after about 6 months. It has a 3 year warranty. It was difficult to contact Calimar so I contacted Pool Supply Unlimited and they contacted Calimar for me and the cell was replaced at no charge. My thanks to Pool Supply Unlimited for their assistance.

Still much cheaper than adding granular hypochlorite.

My first CMARSHA40-3Y was purchased from this supplier 5/13/19. It died during the week of 5/6/24 while getting my pool ready for the summer. So 5 years life on a 3 year warranty (not bad, but not spectacular). I think part of its reduced service life stems from having to operate 100% output 12 hours per day to keep the chlorine levels good in my pool (standard 18x36 rectangle). My pool isn't more than 30k gallons so I can't imagine if it were actually 40k gallons.
Ordered an exact replacement and installed it today 6/8/24. Running good but the measured salt content is about 800-1000ppm higher than what my brand new salinity probe indicates. No problem as of yet since it's only flashing high salt - so chlorine production shouldn't have stopped.
