Easy Care Fountec Fountain Algaecide and Clarifier 64 oz | 50064
$62.95
Kills all types of algae and prevents regrowth in decorative fountains, water gardens (without fish), tabletops, and birdbaths. Fountec's cationic polymers also super-clarify water.
How it Works A small weekly Fountec application added to water becomes absorbed onto the algae and bacteria cell walls. The positive charged polymers coat their surfaces disrupting metabolic functions resulting in suffocation.
Had spent a YEAR trying different chemicals to clear the algae from my pondles waterfall. I tried a small bottle clearing birdbaths and it worked great. Researched Pool Supply further to see if they carried a larger bottle. Voila they did! I just was amazed at in a couple of days the algae was gone! I'd give Easy Care Fountec Algaecide a ten hands down!!! Thank you!!!
I have a 250 plus gallon water feature (fountain) that needs a minimum of 4 tsp (2 oz) per week. Depending on the heat here in northern California I sometimes need an additional 2 tsp (1 oz) just to keep the algae away. It is still the best algaecide that I have used to keep the water clear.
BEST ANSWER:The description notes that 8oz is good for one year so if you are only using it for your pool and you do not have a pool route this will last 8 years. They are both the same products and have the same directions on each bottle.

BEST ANSWER:According to the FOUNTEC TREATMENT CHART: The initial dosage is (2) teaspoons for a clean water feature or (4) teaspoons for a water feature with visible algae, and (1) teaspoon weekly maintenance thereafter for a 200 U.S. Gallon water feature. Hope this helps!
