Olympic's Poxolon 2 pool coating system (or "kit") consists of paint and a catalyst which are packaged separately and mixed in the paint can when ready to be applied. An epoxy coating, one of Poxolon 2's chief advantages is its flexibility, as it can be used on virtually any standard pool surface and applied evenly and thoroughly by sprayer or roller.

Poxolon 2 is designed to give pool walls a tile-like finish without the cost and labor of installing tile patterns. Its non-porous consistency makes it easy to clean just as it helps ensure the long life (up to five years in this case) typical of epoxy coatings.

In fact, either Olympic epoxy paint - Poxolon 2 or Zeron - is a solid option. While Zeron offers up to eight years of effectiveness under normal conditions, the best in the industry, Poxolon 2 applies with less effort because of its thinner texture (which, in turn, requires two coats to be used on all surfaces). Proper application of either product provides pools with a clean, ceramic-like base that withstands chemicals and will help draw visitors to the water all season.

Like Zeron, Poxolon 2 requires a coat of primer (Olympic recommends Gunzite to use with it on fiberglass surfaces and Poxoprime II for concrete and plaster) for optimal adhesion. Nice finish.

It has been about 3 weeks since we painted our pool with high gloss Poxolon and the color and gloss remain strong. I was kinda backing out on this one but I'm glad I stuck to it now.

I want to paint an inground spy?

BEST ANSWER: Depends on the surface your painting. I painted fiberglass and this paint seems to hold up in a spa. I can't say how well it does on concrete/plaster. Make sure you get the right primer & follow painting instructions carefully for your spa if your going to try it.

BEST ANSWER: If the paint is still on the pool lining and is in good shape then I think you are ok to skip priming. If it's worn down anywhere, we made sure to sand off existing paint/primer and start from scratch. It has been about a year since we did our project and so far no additional wear and tear on either the spots we just painted, or the spots that we painted/primed.
