I have had the Paramount Clear O3 on my pool since it was built 11 years ago. I recently had a variable speed pump placed in my pool system and have always had a Clear O3 check valve control the ozone flow. I had many issues with the check valve with the new variable speed pump that I did not have with my old single speed pump. In fact, I had to have the pump and motor replaced under warranty by the manufacturer due to what the technicians deemed possible back pressure and air entraining in the pump due to the Clear O3. It was suggested by the repair company I get rid of the Clear O3, but, I do see some value in the ozone as this being the first pool I had ozone installed on, it is the first of three pools I have had built that I have never had an algae problem in spite of living in Florida and have had days where there was no chlorine being produced from the salt water chlorine generator. The Mazzei injector works like a charm. It seems to be much more efficient than the check valve and has reduced the pump motor noise substantially from the air that was entrained with the check valve location. Since the Mazzei injector works off Venturi principle there are no moving parts to replace, except for the spring that is used to create some minor back pressure to divert water flow to the Mazzei injector. Since I had been told there was back pressure issues with my pool before, I was concerned about the creation of back pressure using the Mazzei injector I am happy to report that whatever back pressure is created by the Mazzei injector it is nominal and I can not tell the difference in the pool return pressure at all. I have replaced the check valves repeatedly at >$50 a pop so maybe the Mazzei injector will pay for itself in a few years. Installation could be tricky as the Mazzei injector is rather long and to correctly install it there will need to be a long straight area to plumb it in the end of your return line. Also, you will need some ground clearance and I do not know if the Mazzei injector can be mounted sideways or in another orientation other than pictured, which, is the way I installed it.
