BEST ANSWER: It is a sacrificial metal. It draws the electrical charge from your pool equipment and corrodes instead of hour pool equipment. Hope that helps.

does the water bond have to be acessable?

BEST ANSWER: A bond and a ground are not the same.A bond wire makes sure all metal parts in and around the pool are connected so they are all at the same electrical potential.A ground make sure there is a good path to ground in case there is a short the circuit breakers will trip. Do not connect the anode to a ground rod or to the breaker box.To protect the pool heater,run the bond wire over to the bond lug on the side of the heater.

No, you could tie into the bond loop at the pump or heater.If you don't have any bond wire then try connecting it to a ground rod driven into the earth. Not as good but better than nothing.

All my equipment is connected to the bond therefore if you connect to a ground on your equipment you should be fine. Hope this has been helpful

I use the FROG Mineral hybrid for my pool, I saw on you tube that this should be use on all pools. Do you recommend that I use it for mine?

BEST ANSWER: Don't need it with the frog, but it never hurts to put one on. Helps save railing cups, heater.

Does the 104R replacement kit fit in the 104D housing for the anode?

Pool Tool Anode Replacement kit Zinc | 104R-KIT
BEST ANSWER: Yes! the housing size is a standard size to fit all the 104 style anodes. The only difference between the different part numbers is the method it mounts.
