Inverter Technology

Powered by Inverter Technology, the Crosswind can intelligently adjust your pool or spa temperature automatically based on heating demand. At heater start up the Crosswind Inverter will run at full capacity for fast heating of your pool or spa. Once the heater reaches the desired temperature it will automatically shift into maintenance mode. In maintenance mode the Crosswind Inverter runs at a lower heating capacity while maintaining your set temperature.

The ability to modulate temperature means the system can adjust its heating capacity in small increments to maintain a constant temperature. Resulting in energy efficient performance, quieter run times and the perfect water temperature.

Whisper Quiet

When you are enjoying your pool and spa the only sounds you should hear are laughter or serenity. The Crosswind is built with a quiet inverter compressor coupled with a low speed fan motor. Which results in whisper quiet operation.

Quiet and efficient, but hard to integrate with

The heater works great, took my in-ground 850 gallon hot tub from 70F to 104F in 6 hours for under $2 in electrical cost (240v @9A/h while on full speed). It's quiet enough to sit within 20 feet of it, but you can definitely hear it run, especially on full speed. It seems to run at about 80% when maintaining temperature (turning on occasionally). I have not seen it run slower.

Integration points:

1) You can turn it on via some external controller, but then you must set it to 104F and let the controller decide when to run.
It will then always run on full speed (and full noise level) even if you want a lower temperature. It's essentialy like buying the ON/OFF model instead of the inverter model.

2) You can set it up to control your pump instead, then it will kick on your pump every 1-2 hours to check temperature, and run if needed. There is no setting longer than 120 minutes.

I do wish that it had a remote or some digital interface for setting temperature.

Raypak, Inc. (“Raypak”) warrants to the original owner that the below model pool and spa heater (the “Heater”) when installed in the contiguous 48 states of the United States of America with a pool or spa by a properly licensed installer will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for the Applicable Warranty Period. The foregoing warranty will extend to subsequent owners solely as required by applicable state law. Under this Limited Warranty, Raypak will, at its option, repair or furnish a replacement for any defective part of the HEATER. The repair or replacement will be warranted for only the unexpired portion of the original Applicable Warranty Period (as defined below).

AVIA Standard Models with copper heat exchanger: 264, 404	Two (2) years following the Effective Date for parts and labor.
AVIA HD Models with NiTek heat exchanger: 264, 404	Two (2) years following the Effective Date for parts and labor. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the NiTek heat exchanger is warranted for three (3) years following the Effective Date for parts and labor.
Pool and Spa Heater Models: 106A, 156A, 206A, 266A, 336A, 406A, 207A, 267A, 337A, 407A*	Two (2) years following the Effective Date for parts and labor.
ASME Pool and Spa Heater Models: 206A, 266A, 336A, 406A, 207A, 267A, 337A, 407A	One (1) year following the Effective Date for parts and labor.
Professional Pool and Spa Heater Models: Professional digital heaters 268A, 408A, SR-410	Three (3) years following the Effective Date for parts and labor.
Heat Pump Pool Heater Models: 2450, 3450, 4450, 5450, 6450, 8450, TWPH 4550, 5550, 6550, 6550EHC, 8550, & 8550EHC and Professional Series PS- 9350ti, PS9353ti, PS10353ti, PS10354ti, PS10355ti	Two (2) years following the Effective Date for labor and seven (7) years following the Effective Date for parts. E3T Single-Phase Pool and Spa Heater Models: 0005, 0011, 0018, 0027 E3T 3-Phase Commercial Pool Heater Models: 0018, 0024, 0030, 0045 and 0054	One (1) year following the Effective Date labor and parts. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the electrical heating element of the Heater is warranted for only ninety days (90) following the Effective Date.

* THIS WARRANTY PERIOD IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR HEATERS INSTALLED ANYWHERE OTHER THAN A SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DWELLING, AS THIS HEATER IS NOT INTENDED FOR COMMERCIAL INSTALLATION.
