The price is high for just a simple motor, but oh so worth it. Now I can open and close the pool cover by myself. It has helped a lot when rolling the cover up and keeping it taught to roll up flat without needing a second person to turn the handle. I highly recommend.

We have really loved the motor and the way it operates. We mounted ours into a elaborate hidden box under ground that hides the rolled up blanket. It words extremely well. 2 improvement requests (#1. can we hard wire the motor to electricity vs having to remember to plug it in? It is currently a perfect design for those who have it in mobilty setup on their deck but ours in mounted and I have a plug right next to it. so it would be better if I could just plug it in and yet not have the wires in the way... #2. would be make the button to start and stop the roller to be larger and more easily accessible. A remote would be awesome too!!!)

However, the unit has performed extremely well. We have a HUGE pool and a VERY large blanket at it pulls it in easily without any issues. We use it every day all year long. We live in Florida so we swim year around just about every day we can. So we are putting he blanket on and off daily.

A fully automatic system for uncovering and re-covering your pool is insanely expensive, as it requires the ability to automatically pull the pool cover open the correct amount and automatically pull the pool cover closed the correct amount--mechanisms on both ends.

This unit will automatically open the pool cover (by reeling in the cover until it reaches the stops) and automatically feed out the correct amount of pool cover to cover the pool, assuming someone is pulling the cover closed. It has no way to pull the cover closed on its' own--that's your job, but it's still easier when the motor unreels the cover for you.
