The band is off around the middle but I can not get the top piece off so I can clean the cartridges. How do I get it apart?

BEST ANSWER: You must either release the pressure at the gauge or open up the bottom drain on the filter to release the pressure and then the vacuum will release the seal.

waterways crystal water filter
I bought this filter to replace a waterways filter which had failed after several years of service. I have continued to buy this brand for several reasons. (1) parts are easy to obtain (2) the 2 and one half inch fittings give much better flow than the standard two inch fittings and (3) the price compares favorably with other filters on the market. I was impressed with the speed of shipping The filter arrived in just three days and it took me all of fifteen minutes to install it as the new fittings married perfectly with the old fittings. One question that I have which I haven't checked on is whether or not my .old cartridges will fit on this new model I have had this filter running for several weeks and it keeping the water clear.

Works great !! Pool was never cleaner before!
Easy to install.. works quietly. My pool is super clean now.. definitely needed the 400sq Ft cartridge.
The filter was deliver very quickly (within a couple of days) eventhough the ETA was not clear on the website.

A great replacement
Our old DE filter grids finally tore so it was time for a replacement.
Service was amazing with getting it ordered and shipped right away (thankfully they had it at the local DC in Phoenix, AZ.
Easy to install and after running our pump overnight the water was crystal clear and ready to swim in!
