HS-1 SL is a one-part self-leveling hybrid polymer sealant developed using SMP technology designed for horizontal expansion joints in swimming pool decks, patios, and sidewalks. It is packaged in a convenient, easy to use 32 ounce pouch. Just screw on the supplied application tip and apply HS-1 SL into the joint by squeezing the foil pouch. HS-1 SL is self-leveling and does not need to be tooled.

Customer service was great, product packaging could be better

I bought several pouches, and the seam near the spout on on of them opened in shipping squirting a bunch around in the box. Poolsupplyumlimited quickly sent me a replacement with no questions asked. Great customer service. The product takes longer than another major brand to cure, but its only been two days, film in a few hours, 1/2 x 1/2 joint coverage was accurate, two other pouches seams opened up in the same spot as the one in the box, and the top spout threads leaked when squeezing a bead. I will suggest to Mfgr to go to a 29 oz cartridge instead, easier to control in a caulking gun and less seam splitting. I had to pre-tape with duck tape to seams and atoung spout to prevent drips on my pool Hardscape. Cleanup with paint thinner on sealed coping and concrete was adequate, just get to it right away. Minimal shrinkage during cure, but make sure underlying foam is nonporous and no gaps or youll get seeping. I also used a 2 piece of backing foam as a dam when I needed to stop.

Is HS-1 SL paintable?

BEST ANSWER: My answer to this question is, of course it can be painted. A better question would be 'how long it might last' since it will expand and contract due to it's flexibility. I found that I can add paint color to it. Mix in separate container in small batches. I used that method to fill a crack in a colored concrete driveway.

How many feet will one pouch cover?

BEST ANSWER: it depends how deep the crack is. If the crack is deep use a foam backer strip in the crack. That will save a lot of your product I did my entire pool with one pouch but I was only making repairs with the separations that had occurred over 13 years.

Depends how wide and how deep. For me I used half inch wide and half inch deep recess. One pouch went about 20 feet +/-. Hope this helps.

It depends on the width and depth you apply it. If applied 1/2 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep, one pouch should get u about 20 feet
