This unit will pay for itself in a couple of years on the chlorine it saves. Really minimizes the chemistry work you need to do, since the chlorine dose you will need is so modest, only 1/2 ppm. Mine works great and the water is so clear and free from chlorite odor. Highly recommend a sanitizer for every pool.

Before purchasing, we investigated all available data far more intensely than what we had before voting for Trump. And unsurprisingly, we are happier with our sanitizer than our President. So it goes.
A couple of things to be aware of before buying. Firstly, pay close attention to the flow rate. UV needs time to work, so if you choose too small a unit, nothing will happen. Secondly, plan out your site carefully. It is a big bastard, noticeably bigger than that other bastard. and remember, you still require 1 PPM chlorine in the pool. It kills what goes through, but everything else is still swimming around.
The electrical requirements are not significant, but models come with, and without, activation pressure switches. We ordered without, and connected to our automatic pool pump by adding a neutral. Also a regular switch in an outdoor. These don't come in 220 volts, so that was a pain.
The power supply is separate, so we had to nail that brick on the wall separately, be sure you have room.
Plumbing the monster in was horrendous. It wants a bypass loop and the whole assembly is HUUGGGE. Not so easy to squeeze in to our space.
Ours fired up immediately, and killed the swamp smell overnight. So far, so good. Ask again in a year or two.
I'd ask for a couple of improvements:
- We should be able to rotate the top discharge (or the bottom intake) around 360 degrees for installation convenience.
- There should be a port or something to see if the UV light is on in daylight. I suspect they put the clear port on top for that purpose, but I couldn't see squat in daytime.
- The switching power supply should have a 220 option

This unit is being used for my residential home in conjunction with a Pentair salt chlorinator. We installed the unit this week. We installed the water bypass and power switch as recommended by the instructions. It seems to work so far. The lower fitting leaks, so I will have to figure out how to stop it. It would be better if the power cord was able to be placed in conduit - the connections don't allow that. The pictures show the unit with a pressure gauge - it doesn't come with one.

These units keep failing. They only last for about 2-3 years. I spoke to the regional rep who said that my unit was too big and I should downsize based on my flow. It develops an air pocket at the top where the uv light destroys the plastic. I called Delta's engineering department and they would not give any opinion because the regional sales rep had said that. Made no sense how the same inlet/outlet and diameter would have different flow internally. It is a design flaw. So, I had my pool re plumbed with this smaller unit. Guess what? It did the exact same thing that the larger ones did.

They seem great, but the housings fail before the bulb does.

It’s totally worth the long wait! We had to replace the one we already had that quit after a super hard week of a freeze and no electricity! We are back into serious sunshine and just love our UV sanitizer- it really keeps the pool water crystal clear and we use less chlorine tablets and that helps all to eliminate dry pool skin .
