When your cleaning the pool and it's time to backwash andvrince how long do you do each ?

BEST ANSWER: Run backwash until the sight glass is clear of debris. This runs water up through the bottom of the tank loosening debris and flushes it out of the filter.
After backwashing, likewise - Run the cycle until the sight glass is clear (usually only a few seconds). This runs water in the normal direction, but flushes out any remaining dirty water at the top of the tank instead of returning it to the pool.
