Pink Treat is an EPA-registered patented algaecide that is specifically designed to kill Pink Algae and bacteria in any type of swimming pool. A lesser known fact about Pink Algae is that it is actually a type of bacteria that grows in swimming pools.
Pink Treat is specifically formulated to eliminate the presence of these kinds of bacteria to leave your pool crystal clear and safe to swim in. Pink Treat is very easy to use: simply add one bottle per 20,000 gallons and superchlorinate to wipe out any presence of Pink Algae/bacteria in your pool.

Pink Slime
Treated pool with the bromine and it halted the slime. Still a lot of work to clean up, but I will be treating it with this Pink Treat to prevent any future occurrence.

Worked fine
There is no problem with this product. I will blame my own laziness/hurriedness for not really investigating a little more. It's just sodium bromide. I probably already had that in my shop. Don't know if the price would be any different or not, but if when I googled "how to get rid of pink algae," I had just found a result that said "sodium bromide," I could have saved some time.

treatment for pink slime (a bacteria)
Don't use it! It took all the free chlorine from the water. It was several days and the addition of new water to get to where the free chlorine would stay in the pool water. In addition, it did not get rid of all the pink slime.

Chlorine guzzeler
Once added, I had to shock the pool 3 times in 6 hours to get it to hold any chlorine. Over nite first and second nites after adding product , the pool went from 10 chlorine level to 0 the next nite it went from 5 to 0 again. That continues for 5 nites after adding product. Requiring much more chlorine then I have ever needed. I've had this pool for 20 years. No one mentions that you will need to shock the pool 9 times over 3 days and it still won't hold any chlorine over night. Not reccomended at all.

Pink Algae Still There
Pool is approximately 15,000 gal. Used whole bottle of Pink Treat (supposed to be good for 20,000 gal) and still have pink algae

How long do I wait after applying pink treat to add my baquacil oxidizer and sanitizer.?

BEST ANSWER: My pool is a chlorinated pool after I added the pink treat and as my filter started leaking I had to change it several times within a day. Then I started adding my sanitizer. Let the pink tree kill the white water mold And then start sanitizing.Enter an answer to this question.

I was told a year ago to wait until the next day, but to be honest it worked but my chlorine demand more then doubled. for the rest of the season.

What will treat purple powder-like stuff on bottom of inground pool?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t know what would be purple and powder like on the bottom of your pool. If it’s loose and can be broomed, it sounds like something in your water settled to the bottom. Maybe an additive in a chemical you’re using? This Pink Treat is for pink algae slime/mold. It grows similar to green algae, but left unchecked, will bloom into the grossest pink floating slime you’ll ever see. It does a great job! We have been using it for years. Daughter used to work at a pool company and swears by it. Good luck!

There can be a couple causes for a pool having purple haze or powder like substances. If your pool has a powder like substance it means you have calcium scale deposits which occurs when your calcium level is too high. Purple haze in your pool is a caused bu your pool being improperly balanced along with a possible mineral issue.I suggest filling a water bottle up and taking it to a pool store near you to have the water tested.

Pink Slime

There can be a couple causes for a pool having purple haze or powder like substances. If your pool has a powder like substance it means you have calcium scale deposits which occurs when your calcium level is too high. Purple haze in your pool is a caused bu your pool being improperly balanced along with a possible mineral issue.I suggest filling a water bottle up and taking it to a pool store near you to have the water tested.
