Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner
Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus Plus with CleverClean offers the most reliable, deepest clean. The easy-to-use Dolphin comes with an industry leading warranty and low maintenance design, making your pool shine all season long.
CleverClean is smarter cleaning! While competitor pool cleaners swirl around the pool floor in random patterns, Dolphins use smart navigation to scan and clean your pool floor completely.
Features
CleverClean™ – The latest & most precise navigation system for complete pool coverage.
No More Tangling! Tired of lots of hoses and cables? Dolphins are "plug and play" and includes the patented Dolphin Swivel technology that gets rid of tangling and ensures complete pool coverage.
Large Cartridge Filter! The Nautilus CC Plus includes a top loading cartridge that is easy-to-reach and rinse clean after collecting leaves, dirt and debris.
Dual scrubbing brushes attack tough dirt, debris and particulates - providing more friction and better cleaning performance compared to competitors that skim the pool floor.
The Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus consumes an average of 5 cents of energy per hour and is 8 times more energy efficient than suction and pressure cleaners.
The Dolphin far surpassed my expectations. When you clean it out each time, it takes approximately 15 minutes to retrieve it from the pool, remove filter cartridge, clean and rinse, put cartridge back in, and either put away or put back in the pool. If your pool has a lost of sediment and trash, you may have to repeat this cycle 2-3 times.
This cleaner has exceeded my expectations. Does a thorough job and reliably climbs on the walls. It is very powerful compared to our old external-pump bases unit.
In addition to vacuuming it does a good job filtering the water. We were without the pool pump for a few days waiting for a motor replacement. We used the Dolphin to filter and circulate the water in the meantime and water stayed clear.
This is our second automatic pool cleaner. This one is much better at handling our oval in ground pool. Covers the entire pool, including sides in about 2 to 2.5 hours. Cleanup is easy and quick. The micro-screens filters are much better than our previous one with a net type filter.
We were set on hiring a pool service prior to ordering this unit. We ran the unit and were so amazed with the results realized we didn't need a pool service at all.
The unit works well picking up loose dirt and debris from the bottom of the pool but it doesn't actually scrub. The belt that runs under the unit turns at the same speed it travels so it's not scrubbing, it just runs over it. The advertisement says it scrubs algea from the pool put it doesn't. I have been running it for 2 weeks now and the light algea I had is still there only now I have little one inch tracks from the units wheels. I would give it 5 stars if it actually scrubbed.
I've always used suction side cleaners like Kreepy Krauly for my inground, vinyl liner pool but they no longer last long enough to be worth the price. They pretty much require you to leave them running all the time too in order to clean the whole pool. I purchased the Nautilus Plus last year and have been very happy with it. It is very fast at cleaning my 20x40 pool and has only gotten stuck once or twice. It does not always clean the stairs which is my biggest complaint and one time one of the drive belts somehow came off and got jammed up in the unit so that I had to take it apart and re-install the belt.
Works well, easy to use and clean. Although it has not yet cleaned the old alge as well as I would have liked. I t seams to get slightly better afte each use, so, in time, maybe it will get the complete job done.
The machine does a nice job of cleaning debri from the bottom of pool. It is lacking in wall cleaning. The promotion video has it going up the walls. In reality, it doesn’t. Another fact not disclose in video or promotional pages is that pool vacuum needs to be taken out of the water when persons are in the pool. For me as a 79 year old, it’s a pain to take out each time and store.
I wanted a robotic pool cleaner ever since we moved into a house with a pool, but I put it off for a long time due to the cost and worrying that it wouldn't be worth it. I am so glad I finally bought this cleaner. It does an amazing job cleaning the pool. Now instead of vacuuming and scrubbing I just run this for a cycle (occasionally two cycles if there's a lot of debris in the pool) and I save myself the time and elbow grease. I've been able to spend a lot more time IN the pool since buying this. One of the best purchases I've ever made.
I bought this dolphin to replace the old one that that the previous owner of our house passed on to us a year ago. I used to go out to the pool to restart it so it would clean the entire pool. It died so I shopped around. I was prepared to spend $1500 on a top of the line robotic clean but realized I don't need all the bells and whistles. I don't need to it to link to my phone. It can be programmed for multiple cycles a week. The pool is spotless after it finishes. The best thing I love about it is that it doesn't have bags like my old dolphin!
I was hesitant spending this much money on a pool cleaner. My wife has been trying to talk me into buying one for years.
I've had this now for about 3 weeks. It does a great job covering the whole pool. What surprised me, is that it able to clean about 1" above the water line, and it makes it up the first two steps. It's super easy to clean.
I wish I would have listened to my wife years ago, but that's another story.
I just purchased this and it does do a good job cleaning the floor if you can get it to stay on the floor. It seems to spend more than half its cycle on the sides , and I rather it spend more time on the bottom. I had a Polaris for the same price and you where able to shut the sidewall off or on, a super great feature, this one how ever lacks that ability to do so.
We are so thrilled and happy with our new Dolphin and often catch ourselves wondering why we waited 10 years to buy a robot. We did our research, and this Dolphin was consistently at the top. While we read this one would not clean the waterline, it’s definitely an overachiever. This robot cleans our floor, walls, and on occasion, it gets the water line. It’s amazing, and I highly recommend!
Highly recommend this product. My old Dolphin pool cleaner was losing steam. This new one moves faster and I love the direction it takes. Couldn't believe it when I saw this machine climb the wall and move along the top in a sideways fashion.
Loved this vacuum but only lasted 3 years only used during 3 summers and now it just stopped , that’s not long enough for me for the price or I would buy it again.
We call our Nautilus Mr.Toot. This is the second robotic pool cleaner i have owned and it is far better than the one I bought several years ago at significantly less cost. It is fast and does a good job and I love how easy it is to clean the filters. I have just had it a short time so I hope it hold up.
I would definitely recommend this product. It does an excellent job getting the whole pool clean and even the sides. It really makes the spring clean up a breeze.
I love this vacuum. It is so easy to use. It is thorough, and the bottom of the pool feels good after we use it. Very fun watching it clean the side of the pool.
I have had it for 2 years and I have no complaints. It does a fine job of cleaning up the fine sand like algae/debris at the bottom of the pool and is easy to clean. I was surprised at how efficient it was. It runs for about 2 hrs and I use it once to twice a week depending on how the pool looks.
I highly recommend the Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner and Pool Supply Unlimited
I love this pool cleaner! it is so easy to use and does a great job! My pool is so much cleaner now that I own one of these. I used to vacuum manually and it was a chore and I dreaded it so I didn't do it very often. Now, with the Dolphin, I don't give it much thought or effort. I just drop it in and forget about it and two hours later the pool is spick and span. Pool supply unlimited made the choice and purchase easy. Their website is very clear and accurate and has good videos and really takes most of the work out of trying to find the product that's right for you. Shipping was very fast and this overall purchase experience met or exceeded all my expectations.
I have only used this twice so far, but it has done a nice job and left the pool quite clean. I find it easy to clean the filters and it's easier to pull out of the pool than my previous cleaner. I would recommend it.
The Maytronics Nautilus CC Plus is a fast and very efficient pool cleaner. My pool has never been cleaner! And cleaning the filter media is a breeze! My old Maytronics has a bag that was a real mess to clean out. Plus the old pool cleaner was heavier and had to be turned over to remove the bag, then rinse it and dry it and out it all back together the next time I needed it. The Nautilus CC Plus is so easy to clean—just pop open the two top covers, pull out the filter media, separate the the media, rinse, put it all back together and I am ready to go the next time! My only con concern is the longevity of the clips that hold the filter media together and how long the media it self will stand the test of time? I know that the manufacture of plastics has come along way- just a little skeptical how the clips will hold up?? Also, it is unfortunate that the manufacturer did not include the cart with the rather exorbitant price for the pool cleaner. But so far (three weeks). I live this robotic pool cleaner. This is my 3rd Maytronics cleaner purchase in 25 years of owning a 40,000 gallon inground pool.
I love this cleaner, my pool looked terrible, I needed to run the cleaner a couple times and the pool is crystal clear. It even sucked up a big frog. Highly recommended!
I have an inground pebble finish pool with very sharp angles, had my doubts, but very happy with this Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus Plus cleaner, it hits everywhere, including steps, benches, even water line. very powerful wall climbing, very surprise how much it sucks up everyday. Excellent auto pool cleaner. Highly recommend it. Blows away every vacuum related unit I have ever tried.
Loving this vacuum so far. I was having trouble with the handheld so when this came in it was awesome. I can lift it and set up it. It’s a plug and clean. Cleaning the filters is so easy. We didn’t quite understand the 1-2-3 on the controller. The instructions for that were not in the box. I finally was able to find it on the internet. It’s for cycles. 1-2-3 day between cleans. The vacuum is a bit heavy to get out but if you can lift it to your edge and let the water run out then you’ll be fine completely removing it from the pool. Does a pretty good job. Our pool is an 18x40 L-shape.
Amazing- so easy to use and does great job. Have had a pool for over 20 years at three different houses. Have used a company in the past for pool Maintenance- not anymore. No reason to- this cleaner does the job and so easy to use!
Over two years owning the Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus and still continue to impress ??
The Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus is the best alternative for the Do it your self person. All I do is Manually skim The water surface and brush the steps and then let the Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus do the rest. I only spend 10 minutes of my time once or twice a week and the pool is always sparkling clean.
Amazing. We have a beach entry and for 15 years every sweeper I tried would get beached and flip water out of the pool. Babysitting a pool sweep us MOT my idea of fun. The Nautilus CC Plus just backs up when the water gets too shallow. It’s awesome. And it cleans the water line tiles too. Highly recommend for anyone, but especially if you have a beach entry.
Can you use this to clean the pool when you first open it for the season? Some small debris like leafs and algae are blown in under the cover through the winter
BEST ANSWER:I use a leaf blower catcher (hooked to the hose) to get up the large number of leaves that have gathered at the bottom, then use this. You are going to love this vacuum. It is awesome!:) I will run it a couple of times on the first day of opening, just to give a good cleaning. Mine runs about 2 1/2 hours per cycle. Just clean out the filters and go, again. It is programmable, but I just use prior to getting in the pool. Once or twice a week or so. Does that help?

This really depends on the type of cover and debris. If it is covered with heavy silt and/or leaves you will have to pull it out and empty the filter chamber often. Also, because it is random in its coverage, it will take pretty long to get the entire bottom. I generally vacuum to waste (bypass filter system) through my pump, it is quicker and more effective for heavy sediment and leaves. That being said, this is a nice product and cleaning the filter is much easier than my last unit. It does hang up on my stairs occasionally but i can live with that for the convenience it offers.
Yes, I have a pool cover on all year because of our small dog. Once a month I drop the pool cleaner in and run it for the standard two hours. It runs every other day for a 7 day cycle then automatically turns off. Then I pull it from the pool for three weeks. And store it. They do not want the cleaner in the poop full time. That is why’s the shut off after one week. I like it better than the Polaris units. This system does not need a booster pump.
yes you can but it is better to drop the cleaner in the pool monthly and let it run its cleaning cycle (i do every other day). a cleaning cycle is 7 days then the unit shuts off and they want you to remove it from the pool. Also a cycle is two hours, not full time I like the dolphin better than the polaris I have run for 20 years, no poster bump. Paul
BEST ANSWER:This does include the power supply but the caddy is sold separately. The caddy is sold on the website and definitely worth the $110. Makes storing much easier.

After glancing thru this Q&A info..I notice the ironic/coincidence all reply from men AND nearly reply from others daily, it is all positive " feedback, ref this product, But i obviously am skeptical & prefer NOT to waste $$$$ ... is this the correct information & trustworthy?

I'm a woman, and I do all the pool maintenance at our house (my husband hates the pool and didn't want it in the first place). While I think the Dolphin performs adequately when the pool is already fairly clean, my Aquabot seems to do a better job when the pool is fairly dirty. Just my opinion, but I think the robotic cleaners with the bags (I call them diapers) do a more thorough job. My old Aquabot is still my go-to cleaner while the Dolphin sits in the garage. It will be my spare in case the Aquabot is out of commission.
Well I'm a man and I'm primarily responsible for cleaning the pool although my wife usually skims. This is a great product. I rarely comment on purchases but I had a similar concern (price is relatively high). Pool has never looked better and very simple to use. My only concern is wear and tear and that I don't get 5+ summers out of it. That being said so far so good.
Can this unit remove leaf debris from the floor of a pool (small bits of leaves, not whole leaves)?
A shopper
on Feb 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER:Yes, this pool cleaner can definitely remove leaves - whole leaves as well as bits of leaves. When leaves started falling before we got our pool cover on, there were times when we needed to run it for two cycles to get all the leaves (and empty it of all the leaves in between the cycles), but it got them all. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I put it off for a long time worrying that the expense wouldn't be worth it, but this thing does a great job. Every time I throw it in the pool I'm so thankful for all the time I now get to spend swimming instead of cleaning the pool.

Yes! It gets very small particles from the bottom. It even removes whole leaves. Obviously the more leaves, the sooner you have to empty it out, but it is amazing. I don't cover my pool in the winter and leaves are constantly in there. Throw this in for an hour, twice in a row and everything is gone!
Sorry about the slow response. My pool has a typical Florida screen room. The Nautilus Plus does a great job of removing pine straw and small pieces of leaves that get through the screen. I highly recommend the Nautilus.
Yes it will clean leave at the bottom of pool, I don't know what sizes leaves your talking about, but I have maple leaves and it pick them upjust fine.
When taking cleaner out of the pool, does any of the collected debris go back in the pool? I have that issue with my Smart Pool cleaners.

BEST ANSWER:Yes some will but I try to bring it to the surface - then hold the handle and take it out on one full swoop rather than trying to let it drain over pool. Thereby lessening the amount that falls back into the water. So a little does - but usually no large debris just some pollen or similar water.

Excellent question. The answer is NO! Before the dolphin cycles off, the unit will sit still for 20-30 seconds to clean the area underneath it. When I pick it up all of the debris is safely inside the enclosed filters and will not come out. Fantastic piece of equipment!
I have not had that problem with this cleaner. I had the same problem with debris you describe with other cleaners, so I was extremely pleased to not have any debris go back in the pool with the Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus Plus. It's an excellent product!
I can't say that I've seen anything go back into the pool, but as it drains out onto the deck I've seen some very fine particles come out but not too much. I still like mine.
I don't have that issue with this cleaner and it is usually packed when I pull it out to clean it. Also its much easier to clean than my previous model with the bag.
Do I need a special cord /attachment to hook up? Or just ext cord from house to plug robot in? 1st timer, been looking long enough to be confused as to which one TRULY IS THE BEST.. I'm still not sure..I have a VERY odd in ground shaped pool w/ledge & deep end, will this " help" or GET JOB DONE CORRECTLY?

BEST ANSWER:Overall I like this robot. I also have an in ground pool with stairs and a ledge and I don't really think it climbs the stairs too well. I don't sit and babysit it while it is on but I've never caught it on the individual steps. It cleans the pool very well and doesn't miss anything on the normal pool surface. It comes with all the equipment you need to get going. It has a transformer box that plugs into the wall and then has a low voltage waterproof line running to the robot.

Regular 3 prong extension cord words just fine....this is an outstanding product. I have the same type of pool and it works fantastic. It has a pretty long reach, but you want to make sure you secure the control around something heavy so the cord doesn't get pulled into the pool. My deck stairs are fairly close so I wrap it around that. I couldn't be happier with this product and exceeded all expectations. I also got another product to help with the skimming.
If your unit needs an extension cord at all it will be the normal outdoor type that you can buy anywhere. I do recommend a 12 guage over a 14 since the wire is heavier. The shape of the pool will not affect the operation of your Dolphin at all. I service pools of all shapes and sizes and it cleans them all. The Nautilus is the best cleaner I have ever used!
It uses a standard household outlet. My pool shape sounds similar to what you described, I can say that it does a great job. Only issue is it may get stuck on the step. But other than that it works better than the previous unit it replaced.
The vacuum has a long waterproof cord that plugs into the included control box. Then the control box plugs into an outlet. You can use an extension cord from the control box to the outlet.
No special cord. Just plug in and put it in pool. I have a " L" shaped pool and it works just fine. Once in a while it might miss a spot or two but that s the case with any robot.
Can you swim in the pool while this is in the pool and working. Seems like it could be a shock hazard?
A shopper
on Jul 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER:Technically you can - but I don't know why you would and I think you shouldn't since there is the cord moving around the pool and any of the dirt that you are looking to vacuum up will be pushed around and not picked up as easily. Of course many will also say - why get in the pool when an electric device is operating....? It works great !

Technically, you can swim. The shock hazard should not be an issue. You'll just have to keep on dodging the Dolphin as it is all over the place! I usually get it to work overnight and have a squeaky-clean pool in morning. Love this robot!
The cleaner uses low voltage power from the controller so the hazard is minimal at best. But i would recomend just running it after your done using the pool it only runs for a couple hours at a time then shuts itself off.
I would not recommend swimming while this is running. It is definitely a shock hazard and a tangle hazard. It has a one hour cycle so you can run it at times when no one is in the pool.
Do I just plug it in an outlet or hook it up to the filter?

BEST ANSWER:Just a power outlet. It has two filters that are removed (very easily) and cleaned. I have had this about a month. Great product I wish I purchased sooner. Hopefully it will continue to clean my pool for many summers to come. Best of luck.

You just put the unit into the pool, plug it into the power supply unit which in turn plugs into any outlet. It is self contained totally separate from your filter. .Very easy!
BEST ANSWER:I have owned 2 of these, one for a vinyl pool and the other gunnite. Highly recommend this cleaner. It hugs the walls amazingly well so it does a good job on the walls as well as the floor. As for the waterline, it does a pretty good job but you'll still have to occasionally hand scrub the waterline.

BEST ANSWER:I’ve had one for a year and it did only once or twice. It will back itself up when it can’t move forward. Hasn’t happened in a long time. In my case it may have been because of an old ladder. Hasn’t happened since I replaced ladder.

It could. We have a table in our pool and it does get stuck around it. We use the pool brush to move it out of there. We always make sure to hook the handle with the brush.
I recently bought the Nautilus Plus cleaner, It is terrific. When I purchased it I thought that a “caddy” came with it, I did not receive one. Is this a separate item?
BEST ANSWER:My house has 110V. But the Dolphin Nautilus power supply input shown the range of 100-250VAC 50/60HZ 2A. I think it will work with 220V AC. You may call Maytronics to make sure.

BEST ANSWER:The Dolphin channels the water and debris it vacuums through two sizable top-loaded cartridges enveloped by a tightly woven synthetic mesh that traps dirt, slime, leaves, etc. It does not require DE, some other compound, or even a replaceable filter, If that is what you meant by filter media. This is the best robotic cleaner I have ever purchased. My 40X20 pool is ancient and its intake does not provide enough suction to operate a hand-held vacuum. I rely entirely on the Dolphin to vacuum and scrub the pool from season open to close and, in three years, it has never let me down. The suction is very powerful and it does a phenomenal job of climbing and aggressively cleaning vertical surface, in addition to the liner bottom. The filter cartridges are easy to remove, open and hose clean (5 minutes tops), something I do after every 4 or so cycles. The Dolphin even survived being accidentally left outdoors for the duration of a cold NY winter.

BEST ANSWER:Yes, check Amizon too for pricing, and Pool supply. There is also a great video on YouTube for instructions. I had my Nautilus for just under 4 years, I live in New England so seasons are short. I would clean my pool maybe twice a week, then it stopped working. Looked to all pool supply places, NO ONE repairs Nautilus! You have to send it back to the company, pay for shipping ect. I did find a place locally. Well, they told me motor was no good!! So not pleased with Maytronics at all. Next season I’ll look for another brand that I can have it repaired if needed. Just thought I’d let you know of my experience. Good luck!!!

I have a vinyl liner and sometimes the vacuum will get stuck in the corners. Haven't seen any damage and vacuum will shut off after a bit when it doesn't move.

This unit works the best in in ground pools and I highly recommend this as the best we have ever used and depend on it 2 Or 3 times per week. Works great

I do not have a salt system but I have had a pool for 23 years now and the pool is 16x32 and I am very happy that I purchased the Dolphin. I have used the Dolphin in our neighbors 20 foot round and our sons 16x40x10 ft deep and amazing job! I highly recommend the Dolphin.
Hi, I read in a previous question that the power cord is about 4’ long and you are not supposed to use an extension cord. I believe my power outlet is further away so I would not be able to purchase and use? Thanks

BEST ANSWER:I use an extension cord. I just wrap it around something to secure it. I think the fear is an unsecured cord could allow the power pack to be dragged into the pool while plugged in. I never had a problem because cord is secured but I would never swim with cleaner in pool either way

Scrubs floor and walls, removes algae and bacteria

A shopper

I have an in ground vinyl liner pool and I have read that the robot may get stuck on the walls and cause "grinding" and damage to the liner in this area. Is this true and can this be avoided by programming the cleaner to NOT clean the walls?

BEST ANSWER:I have a vinyl liner and have not experienced this at all with this unit. It climbs the walls all the time without issue. No, you cannot program it NOT to clean the walls.

I have a vinyl liner and sometimes the vacuum will get stuck in the corners. Haven't seen any damage and vacuum will shut off after a bit when it doesn't move.
BEST ANSWER:No reason it can’t it’s a self contained unit that just needs to be plunged in to a 110 outlet. All the filtering and suction is contained within the unit.

This unit works the best in in ground pools and I highly recommend this as the best we have ever used and depend on it 2 Or 3 times per week. Works great
BEST ANSWER:I do have a salt system I don't think that makes any difference to the cleaner. We will leave the cleaner in the pool and set the controller to run every other day, only remove it when we swim. There is no ill effects that I can see. The body is plastic, so no metal parts exposed to corrode. I'm very happy with mine.

BEST ANSWER:Dolphin can be used in chlorine or saline (salt) pools. I've had 2 Dolphins (home and vacation property) and it worked great on both, although it does a better job on vinyl than gunnite by the mear face the vinyl is smoother surface
